“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
Our story
In John 16:33, Jesus tells His disciples they will have trouble. But He has overcome the world in order that the Holy Spirit may guide them on earth. And, that they may live eternally with God.
Of course, Jesus speaks truth to His disciples. I believe these words can be applied to our lives as well. Jesus died and rose again so all who believe may have eternal life with God. (Read John 3)
Although, our trouble probably looks different than the disciples’. My trouble includes the death of a newborn sibling when I was four, relationship challenges, a natural disaster, the pandemic, anxiety, depression, and chronic illness. Maybe you can relate. Or maybe your trouble looks more like cancer, divorce, infertility, financial strain, or addiction.
No matter the trouble, I know God is present. Connecting with God through prayer, praise, gratitude, scripture, and nature blesses me daily. His love, strength, comfort, and joy help me through life’s biggest challenges.
God is here for you too!
